The spotlight is on Sheet Music Plus This Time!
Sheet Music Plus is an online store that contains over 1,000,000 music titles from all composers and various styles. Their claim is to be the largest online retailer of sheet music in the world. The site is operated by musicians themselves who “aim to serve other music lovers.” They provide a wide array of offers and opportunities, which will be described in detail further down the article.
This is one of many exclusive offers for music their patrons and members that they offer. Their EasyRebates Program was designed for music teachers, choir directors, and even college students who love music. Participants will receive 8% cash back on all purchases.
Easy Rebates Referral Program…
Participants can also refer their friends, family and students to the program and earn $5 for each one. There is no limit to this, but your referal must place an order within 60 days and the item must be shipped.
Why are they doing this?
They are running these programs because it enlarges their brand. They are also trying to compete with other retailers like Virtual Sheet Music.
This is good and all but what if you just want to buy or browse for sheet music?…
Sheet Music Plus Facts
As previously mentioned, the store offers over a million songbooks and titles. Some can be downloaded immediately or ordered and shipped for a physical copy. It just depends on how you prefer to read reading the score. I have integrated a search bar to make it easier for you below. Or feel free to just visit the SMP website here.
It is nice to have a physical copy for a collection and such but because of the Coronavirus Outbreak, I would HIGHLY recommend downloading virtual copies. This is for your safety and the safety of others. The shipping times will most likely be screwed up anyway. Having a virtual copy will help you pass the time under quarantine. It certainly does for me!
If you are concerned about the implications of shipping and such, consider looking in to a subscription with Virtual Sheet Music. Stay safe!
On another note…
Their site is relatively easy to navigate – although it can be a bit cluttered sometimes. I suppose that “beats” an actual music store where you walk in and there is an entire library to sort through… That could also be quite enjoyable sorting through all the different sections and watching the hours dwindle away whilst perusing. Again, it comes down to personal preferences…
The Sheet Music Plus support team is always there for their customers and offer a wide variety of services. That is, if you want to start that whole process, which can become more of a hassle sometimes, but it could pay off for ya!
Their markup is not too high considering that they offer the highest quality sheet music brands like Edition Peters and Hal Leonard. Piano teachers may be compelled to purchase additional copies of their music and give them to students because of the 5% cash back incentive. Additionally, college students can receive 8% cash back on every purchase which racks up after a while, especially if you enjoy rapidly ramping up your repertoire.
The “Bargain Basket“
They typically will offer a large discount on overstocked titles and/or new releases. They offer 40% off of most new releases in their little “basket of goodies.”heir most recent discount promotion as of January 2020 is for choral music. So they are currently offering 20% off of anthems, cantatas, masses, and worship. Remember that if you are an EasyRebates member you will get an additional 8% off. Do you see the strategy here?
Why Do They Offer So Many Promotions and Discounts?
To put it simply, they want you to buy music from them, so they offer more-than-reasonable incentives. These promotions don’t have an unlimited duration but they are long-lasting and when one ends, another begins. Additionally, they will attempt to tell you what is hoppin’ right now, so that you can get in on the latest action.
If you are a composeer and have works to publish, Sheet Music Plus has a solution. They offer free accounts to any aspiring composer the opportunity to see and list their work on their website. Because they host, you will receive 45% commission off of each sale. There are also marketing tools for you that are available right on the dashboard, things like email lists and social media icons. Don’t let your masterpieces go unpublished!
